Delete your account
Two ways to do it. Both remove the same data. The first one is instant.
From inside the app
Open TrustThisCar, tap Account, then Delete account and confirm. The account and everything attached to it are deleted straight away. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it.
By email, if you no longer have the app
Send a message to privacy@trustthiscar.com from the email address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account. We reply to confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually within a few days.
We can only act on a request that comes from the registered address. If you have lost access to it, tell us and we will work out another way to verify that the account is yours.
What gets deleted
- Your account and email address.
- Every scan you uploaded: VIN, fault codes, freeze frame, sensor values, ECU counters, the mileage you typed in.
- Every report generated from those scans. Report links you have already shared stop working.
- Your credit balance, including any unused credits. Credits are not refundable and are not transferable to another account.
What we keep, and why
- Purchase and accounting records for ten years, as Italian tax law requires. After deletion they no longer carry your email or any identifier we can link back to you.
- Server logs for up to 90 days, then they expire on their own.
- The record held by Apple or Google of a purchase you made in their store. That is theirs, not ours. To have it removed, go to your Apple or Google account.
Before you delete
Save any report you still want. Once the account is gone we cannot recover a report, and neither can you, even with the link.
